Happy St Patrick's Day!

St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is often depicted with a cross in one hand and a sprig of shamrocks in the other.  Historians believe that he used the three-leafed clover in his teachings to explain the Holy Trinity of God.

In wasn't till the nineteenth century that the four-leafed clover came to be regarded as 'good luck'.  Research indicates that on average, there are only 1 in 5,000 clovers that have 4 leaves, which is why it's considered lucky to find one!
